Description

The 1875 Army Outlaw Revolver is a faithful reproduction of the 1875 Remington® single-actions, which kept the solid frame and overall styling of Remington’s 1858 percussion models. Ordinary citizens and Old West lawmen alike recognized the sturdy quality of the new Remington revolvers. The infamous Frank James even carried one for most of his outlaw career in the .45 caliber. The 1875 Army Outlaw Nickel model features a nickel plated steel frame, nickel plated parts, spring retained cylinder pin, the "webbed" ejector rod tube, and a two-piece walnut grip.

Taylor's & Company 1875 Army Remington 45 Colt Nickel 7.5" Barrel

I've been wanting to buy a single action cowboy revolver with a long barrel. I wanted the gun that was carried by the outlaw Jesse James. I own several Ruger Vaquero and Ruger Blackhawk. They are nice but pricey and do not have the old west style I am looking for. Then I found this gun on GunPrime's web site and the price was reasonable. Would have been nice if shipping was free. The gun was shipped and arrived at my FFL within 3-4 days after I placed the order. So that was impressive given that some vendors use the Covid-19 excuse and takes 2-3 weeks to process an order and another 2-3 weeks to ship.

The gun is beautiful and aesthetically flawless. You can tell that it is well made and thoroughly inspected. It feels good in the hand. A bit heavy but doesn't bother me. It's not going to be a CCW. Can't wait to go shoot it.
